Prediction, Protection, and Prevention is coming in August to KMMD - Columbia

Do you trust your Krav Maga training to equip you to fight back against an attacker, but you are unsure about how to recognize an attack when it is about to occur?  Have you ever wanted more training on avoiding or preventing an attack from taking place?  Are you looking for tips to help equip friends and family to be safer?

Every Wednesday in August, Krav Maga Maryland – Columbia will be holding a specialized 4-session seminar called “Prediction, Protection, and Prevention.”  The instructor for this seminar will be Krav Maga Maryland Chief Instructor, Jeff Mount.  This seminar will be focused on training the “soft skills” of self-defense. – namely, awareness and avoidance of dangerous situations, recognition of predatory behavior, identification of preludes to attacks, body language recognition of pre-fight indicators, verbal de-escalation, transitioning to physical/hard skills of self-defense, and follow-up after a self-defense situation.  The material will be taken from a wide variety of sources, including law enforcement statistics, verbal assertiveness training, psychological studies on violent offenders as well as survivors of violent crime, actual video footage of assaults, and much more.

The cost for this 4-part seminar is $79 per person, and pre-registration is required.  It is open to the public, but Krav Maga Maryland students will be given priority selection.  Registration will be limited to 30 participants.  Participants will experience a variety of training methods, including (very short) lecture, video, written and online resources, discussion, and role-playing/scenario training.   Bear in mind that the focus of this class will NOT be physical training.  Students may wear casual street clothes to participate, but shoes should still be clean, non-marking athletic style shoes.  Questions?  Contact  Jeff at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
