Jeanine Jackson-General Manager, Owings Mills

 Jeanine Jackson, currently a Blue Belt/Expert-certified instructor,  has been involved in the national Krav Maga community since November 2005.  For nearly three years she served as Licensing Director for Krav Maga Worldwide in Los Angeles while also training and attaining many instructor certifications.  In September of 2008 she relocated to the Baltimore area to oversee operations at Krav Maga Maryland's Owings Mills location.  Jeanine also has substantial experience with fitness instruction, having completed Krav Maga Worldwide's fitness certification.

Jeanine's athletic background includes an NCCA Division I water polo career as well as an appearance on the Oxygen Network's show "Fight Girls", in which she competed with nine other women for a chance at a Muay Thai kickboxing championship fight. 

Jeanine graduated from Stanford University with a BA in Studio Art and completed her MA in Sport Management and Administration at California State University Long Beach.  A native of the Los Angeles area, Jeanine currently resides in Baltimore County.  Jeanine is very excited to share her enthusiasm and passion for self defense, fighting and fitness with the KMMD members.

Kirk Andrews

Kirk Andrews began his passion for training in the martial arts at the age of 12.  He has previously trained in Northern Shaolin Kung Fu and Yang Style Tai Chi. 

Kirk started training in Krav Maga in June of 2008.  He was drawn to the devestating efficiency of its real-world effectiveness right away.  With all his traditional training, Kirk still felt the need for a more battle-tested training system, which led to his Phase A certification in October of 2008.  Recently he completed his Phase B certification in November of 2009. 

Kirk graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Business Management from the College of Notre Dame in Maryland through its Accelerated Business School.  During the day he currently works for Laureate Education, Inc. as a Telecommunications Analyst. 

Kirk was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. 

Geoff Blake

Geoff Blake

Geoffrey Blake is a Crossfit certified Instructor.  His passions include Kettlebell lifting, Olympic lifting, lifting his own body, and lifting anything else generally not nailed to the floor.  He has been training in Krav Maga since early 2008, and began teaching fitness classes in early 2009.  Geoff has also begun intensifying his knowledge of diet and nutrition to complement his knowledge of exercise. 
 
As an instructor he strives to help Krav Maga MD students reach their goals through proper technique, encouraging instruction, accountability, and knowledge.  Geoff loves to answer any questions about health and fitness his students throw at him, even more so if the answer requires some research, as this keeps him growing.  He can be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for personal training, workout programming, and training related questions.
 
Outside of teaching and training, Geoff spends the remainder of his time pursuing his career as a musician. He has toured with many bands, most recently the Baltimore-based act, The Hint (http://thehint.com/).  He was born in England, and currently resides in Sykesville, MD.   

Kim Conley

Kim Conley

Kim Conley is a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, as well as an OM Yoga certified instructor.  She is also a massage therapist, specializing in thai massage and sports massage therapy.  Formerly also a member of the United States Marine Corps, Kim graduated basic training with the highest Physical Fitness scores for a female recruit.

Kim heard about Krav Maga Maryland from a friend and immediately fell in love with the intensity of instruction and the fitness benefits of the class.  Kim immediately added Krav Maga to her already robust fitness regimen of running and weight training.  She currently teaches a variety of fitness classes at Krav Maga Maryland, including Yoga and KO Heavy Bag classes.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Kim currently resides in Owings Mils, Maryland.

Jon Guzey

Jon's martial arts background is extremely diverse.  Jon has trained for several years in Muay Thai kickboxing, Kaji Kempo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Tae Kwon Do.  He has been training in Krav Maga for the past six years, attaining his brown belt instructor certification.  Currently Jon teaches Krav Maga self-defense classes, fight classes, and fitness classes.  He is also available for private sessions for either fitness or self-defense training.

He is originally from and still resides in the Washington, D.C. area.

Devorah Palanker

Devorah PalankerDevorah is a certified Phase B instructor.  A gymnast while growing up, Devorah was drawn to Krav Maga because of its simplicity and effectiveness.  At 4’11” Devorah is a shining example of how Krav Maga can work for anyone, regardless of size.

 Devorah completed her B.S. in Nursing in Spring of 2008 and has since joined the staff at Sinai Hospital as an ER/Trauma nurse.  She intends on completing pre-med courses at UMBC.

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Devorah now resides in Owings Mills, Maryland.

Evan Tanner

Evan Tanner, a native of Maryland, has been training with Krav Maga Maryland for the past 3 years.  In 2006 he completed his Phase A certification and has been teaching Krav Maga classes as well as fitness classes ever since.  When he's not teaching or training, you can find Evan running the bar/restaurant/concert venue that he co-owns, or playing drums in one of several Baltimore-area bands.  To check out Fletcher's Bar, click here

Nick Murphy

Nick Murphy is a certified Phase A instructor, having completed his certification in August of 2009.  Aside from training at Krav Maga Maryland for two years, Nick also has several years experience in various martial arts, including Tae Kwon Do, Hapkido, and Aikido.  Nick has also been an avid weightlifter since high school and continues to excel in various types of strength conditioning. 


Nick’s full-time career is as a Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputy, having been with this agency for three years.  Within the realm of law enforcement, Nick is also certified through Prince George’s County’s Emergency Response Team.  He is also a certified instructor with the Maryland Police and Corrections Training Commission, and has continuously become more involved in defensive tactics instruction with local law enforcement agencies. 


Nick was born and raised in Eldersburg, Maryland, and continues to reside there.

Erika Kilchenstein

    Erika is a certified instructor with Krav Maga Maryland. She began training in late 2007, after falling in love with its practicality and intensity. In October 2009, Erika completed her Phase A certification with Krav Maga Worldwide.   Currently she teaches Level 1 classes at KMMD’s Owings Mills training center. She is no stranger to intense physical training, however, as she began figure skating at the age of six.  She continued to skate competitively until the age of 14. Erika loves to bring this same level of talent and dedication to her training in Krav Maga.

 

     Currently Erika is a senior at Towson University. Her focus is International Relations with a concentration in Homeland Security and Counter-Terrorism, and a minor in Spanish Linguistic Studies.  She also enjoys traveling abroad, which is a major inspiration in choosing her degree path. Upon graduation, Erika plans to pursue a career in federal law enforcement.  Originally from the Baltimore area, she currently resides in Owings Mills.
