Built in the Gym, Proven at the Plate: Alex Elliott Earns Second Pecos League All-Star Selection

By Dave Buscher

Success in baseball is measured on the field, but it is built long before a player steps into the batter’s box.

For Alex Elliott, much of that preparation takes place at Krav Maga Maryland. Through consistent weight training, strength development and disciplined conditioning, Alex has worked to become a stronger, more powerful and more durable athlete. That work produces impressive results in professional baseball.

Now in his second season in the Pecos League, Alex plays first base for the Santa Fe Fuego. During the 2026 season, he posted an outstanding .404 batting average, a .503 slugging percentage and a .996 on-base-plus-slugging percentage. Those numbers show that Alex is doing much more than simply making contact. He consistently reaches base, driving the ball and creating scoring opportunities for his team.

His performance earned him selection to the 2026 Pecos League Mountain Division All-Star Team. It was also Alex’s second consecutive All-Star selection.

As a Pecos League rookie in 2025, Alex played for the Monterey Amberjacks and was selected to the All-Star Team in his first professional season. Repeating that accomplishment with a new team in 2026 demonstrates that his success is not accidental. It is the result of talent reinforced by preparation, discipline and a willingness to keep improving.

Baseball requires more than raw strength. A hitter must generate explosive rotational power, maintain balance through the swing and repeat the same mechanics throughout a demanding season. The weight-training work Alex performs at KMMD helps him strengthen the foundation behind those skills. Stronger legs and hips support power at the plate, while improved core strength and overall conditioning help him remain stable, athletic and productive.

That physical preparation is matched by Alex’s approach to training. He understands that improvement comes from showing up consistently, working through difficult sessions and continuing to address weaknesses even when the results are already good. An All-Star season is an achievement. Two consecutive All-Star seasons show commitment.

Alex’s story reflects an important principle we teach throughout Krav Maga Maryland: meaningful performance is built through purposeful training. Whether someone is preparing to compete professionally, protect themselves or simply become healthier and stronger, progress comes from accepting challenges and doing the work required to overcome them.

We congratulate Alex Elliott on another outstanding season and his selection to the 2026 Pecos League Mountain Division All-Star Team. Everyone at Krav Maga Maryland is proud to be part of his continuing development, and we look forward to seeing where his hard work takes him next.
